Record Label Closes and Submits to Pirate Bay

Siting piracy, Dependant Records of Germany has shut down its business, and submitted their entire catalog to The Pirate Bay. I am not sure what type of music this is, but I wonder how many people are going to try to buy the records from wherever they can get the remaining stock once they have downloaded it. Makes you wonder if this was a missed opportunity. For more details check out the link HERE

real bad…This is most definitely a genius PR move. To issue a statement like this and release all records will get them more attention than they hoped to achieve in a lifetime.

On top of which, their unheard-of bands will get a significant exposure, because now we HAVE TO DOWNLOAD their music, for sake of curiousity. When my new album comes out, that’s what I’ll do – Issue a giant press release saying “I Quit! Can’t beat the pirates, yarrr.” And then everyone will have to listen to it. Why? Because they have to find out…Wait…wasn’t there a South Park episode that read exactly like this? Awwww, South Park did it…again.

Damn you Trey Parker & Matt Stone! Damn your evil genius!
