seriously? DiCaprio? Man, I still can’t believe that Akira rights were even up for sale??? Titanic money can buy just about anything, even me :(

There was talk of a live action version some time ago, before DiCaprio. Sony considered it, but found it too daunting and too expensive.

Akira is just too epic in storyline, soundtrack and visuals for something live-action to match, let alone supersede. It took years for the team of artists to handdraw (this is pre CG) the artwork. Ninja Scrolls is much more suitable for such a project.

This reminds me, where’s Jevon? I miss his keen eye on separating the chaff from the grain on all things anime. :)

    Deebee,

Jevon was on working/traveling hiatus, and he is currently a bit busy. I miss him too, and am currently looking for someone who can assist me with the whole anime “stuff” – I quite frankly, do not seem to have the stomach for it, but am hoping to develop it.

    Sincerely Yours,
    Irma
