“What will Nolan do?” is the newest obsession amongst fans of The Dark Knight. Who will inherit the burden of being the new villain to plague Batman? The most brilliant rumours indicate that none other than Phillip Seymour Hoffman will appear in role of the Penguin.

I love it too.

The Dark Knight was so great that I’ve been sure that #3 will be screwed up somehow. I was worried that they would do the unthinkable and recast The Joker (hoping to keep the $500 million gravy train rolling along).

On the other hand, if Phillip Seymour Hoffman is in there, and the writing and direction don’t take a turn for the worse, it should be great.

You bet it would be great

The whole impetus behind getting someone like Leger to do Joker, and Hoffman to do Penguin is to get the heavy weights into a developing genre of superhero films. It is about time to get some quality meat with our substandard buttered popcorn.

Any other villains you’d like to see?
