Nanotech: Spinning Carbon Yarns

Old method of spinning a yarn is now used to produce carbon nanotubes. This is one more available technique used to propel production of carbon nanotubes.

It is also worthwhile noting that spinning, a technique used for production of rope is a technology that has allowed human travel and exchange. I recall a conversation with Adam Holbrook who pointed out that without rope-making, historically female labour, we possibly would not have had the civilisation we have today. It is easy to dismiss “rope” until you think about traveling on ships, on foot, cargo transfer and trade, all which would have been impossible without such a tool; and it is also interesting that its production relevance is for the most part, ignored.
